I live by the philosophy that I am a human first and a therapist second and bring that into the work that I do every day. I don’t believe therapy should feel cold or overly clinical and believe it works best when there’s a real person sitting across from you. Who I am outside of the therapy room shapes how I show up within it.

I moved to Canada from Belfast, Ireland in 2014, and that experience of building a life somewhere new has given me a deeper understanding of change, identity, and what it means to find your footing again. It’s no secret that therapists aren’t immune to life’s challenges, and my own experiences as an athlete, with pregnancy loss and significant life transitions have shaped how I connect with others, allowing me to bring a level of authenticity, understanding, and realness into my work.

Outside of therapy, you’ll usually find me running, at the gym, spending time with friends and family or my dog and watching too much reality TV. I love trying new restaurants and coffee shops, and travelling when I can. These are the things that keep me grounded and they’re a big part of how I stay connected to myself, and to the work I do.

My
Approach

I understand how heavy things can feel when your mind doesn’t switch off, when you’re hard on yourself, or when the pressure to keep up starts to take over.

I believe therapy shouldn’t feel clinical or intimidating but should feel like a space where you can actually be real and fully yourself. Authenticity is really important to me in my work, and I aim to create a space that feels safe, comfortable, and grounded, where you don’t have to filter yourself or have it all figured out. Every part of your is welcome.

Lauren Mallon Psychotherapy supports youth, teens, and adults navigating concerns such as anxiety, self-doubt, overwhelm, identity loss, relationships challenges, neurodivergence, women navigating perimenopause or menopause, those diagnosed with cancer, caregivers of aging parents and high performance athletes. Our goal is to create a safe and compassionate space where we work together to make sense of what’s going on and build tools that feel doable to use in real life, not just in theory. Our approach is relational, collaborative, practical, and client centred to help you feel more steady, more confident, and more like yourself again.
